Ever wonder what to do with the old cans of paint sitting in your house or other toxic cleaners?  I recently had this dilemma so I dialed 311, Denver’s free city information line, to find out what to do.  They told me to visit  the DenverGov.org website to request a HHW (Household Waste)  kit to package up my hazardous materials.  When I received the kit I called the HHW hotline  and was assigned a date for pick-up of my unwanted items.  Every resident of Denver has the opportunity to dispose of  HHW materials for free once a year.  If you have more than the big plastic bag can handle you can pay for another pick-up or wait a year for the free service.   I was very excited to get rid of these toxic materials in a safe way.

4.  You like making loud noises with your significant other that wakes everyone up within a one mile radius of your bedroom.

5. You like jumping into long-term relationships because you need a roof over your head in the next 24 hrs.

I just subscribed to DenverArts.org which is a fantastic online newsletter.  It provides a weekly update on  art openings/events taking place around Denver each week. Sign up for this newsletter at Denverarts.org and find out about fun, art related weekly activities. Best part is most of the events are free or minimal cost.   I went to see Bunky-Echo Hawk at Dazzle’s 1st monday art lecture series.  It was fascinating learning about Bunky’s art and his Native American heritage.  He explained how his background has shaped his art and life.  He also discussed his non-profit organization, Nvision, that promotes Native American culture  to Native American children.  Nvision works to preserve the language and culture of Native Americans.  I can’t wait to see what will be on the agenda for the first monday in March.
