It is that time of year again when Denver prepares to beautify its neighborhoods. If you are desiring more trees in your area then join in the fun of the Denver Digs Trees Program. You can download an application and learn more about it on the The Park People’s website . Also, if you are looking for volunteer opportunities this is one program that is looking for help in the 2009 tree distribution. Tell your friends and plant a tree this year to celebrate Arbor Day.

Ever wonder what to do with the old cans of paint sitting in your house or other toxic cleaners? I recently had this dilemma so I dialed 311, Denver’s free city information line, to find out what to do. They told me to visit the DenverGov.org website to request a HHW (Household Waste) kit to package up my hazardous materials. When I received the kit I called the HHW hotline and was assigned a date for pick-up of my unwanted items. Every resident of Denver has the opportunity to dispose of HHW materials for free once a year. If you have more than the big plastic bag can handle you can pay for another pick-up or wait a year for the free service. I was very excited to get rid of these toxic materials in a safe way.

Hey everyone out there in Bloggville, I found this cool Valentine’s Day video that will make you smile. Well, it made me smile. I guess I don’t really know what will make you smile. Maybe you are a person who rarely smiles? Maybe you are a person who smiles all the time? Maybe you have a shy smile? Maybe you have a big, toothy smile? Whatever your smile looks like I hope this video brings one to your face. Enjoy.
Valentine’s Day spelled out with candy hearts.

5 Reasons to buy a home.
1. You are sick and tired of the landlord raising your rent.
2. You are ready to paint your walls hot-pink or black or just any other color under the sun but white.
3. You need more space to grow your tomatoes and sunflowers than the windowsill.
4. You want a garage to cut down on your street sweeping ticket bill.
5. You want to stop getting weird looks from neighbors who awake each day to the interesting sound effects coming from your bedroom.
5 Reasons not to buy a home.
1. You like living life as a vagabond.
2. You enjoy splitting the rent with a crazy person just to live in a cool loft.
3. You think you get more action (yes that kind) than homeowners do. (not true)
4. You like making loud noises with your significant other that wakes everyone up within a one mile radius of your bedroom.
5. You like jumping into long-term relationships because you need a roof over your head in the next 24 hrs.
If you answered YES to the 5 reasons to buy a home, then you need to search Denver properties for your new home now!
